Learn More About Creative Playtime

Creative Playtime provides half-day and extended day programs for children ages 2 to 4 years old. The school year runs from mid-September to early June. An ease-in schedule aids children in separating.

Creative Playtime is a New York State Licensed facility (granted by the Office of Children and Family Services). The school is also inspected annually to meet the requirements for a safe child care center.
The staff at Creative Playtime is qualified and professional, providing a nurturing environment. Staff attend annual conferences and workshops sponsored by the Westchester Association for the Education of Young Children (WAEYC). They participate in on-going training in the field of early education. The Director reports to the Creative Playtime School Board.

Creative Playtime’s curriculum is developmental and age-appropriate. It is designed to foster children’s growth by stimulating their curiosity and challenging their mental and physical needs. We encourage social skills, promote language, and the building of self-esteem, while respecting each child’s uniqueness as individuals. Their development is enriched through books, music, art, cooking and dramatic play.

There are three, cheerful classrooms at Creative Playtime which are large and air conditioned while the outdoor playground is fenced and boasts a safe cushioned surface.

Our program for 4 year old children also includes a focus on kindergarten readiness, including elements of ‘Handwriting without tears’.
